SUMMER HAS ARRIVED!
Summer weather is officially here and with the summer solstice being the start of “true” summer and the longest day of the year. It’s no wonder why the Vail Valley Locals “come for the winter but stay for the summers”. The summers in the Vail Valley are some of the most spectacular in the world, and here at Camp Hale with Nova Guides we breathe in the fresh mountain air, soak in the warm sunshine and relish in the aspen groves and high alpine meadows that the Colorado Rocky Mountains are known for.
Nova Guides operates on over 25,000 acres in the White River National Forest and is the home of the original 10th Mountain Division. The men of the 10th, as they are commonly called, trained among these acres in various activities including snowshoeing, shooting and climbing. After being a valuable and imperative aspect to the War Cause, these men came back to the United States and started 90% of the US ski industry. With this in motion Camp Hale was added to the National Historic Registry and offers visitors and families a fantastic opportunity to explore this historic landmark. Nova Guides is thrilled to be able to have been on these lands for more than 30 years and have the distinct advantage of knowing over 25,000 acres of trail like the back of our hands! We offer several options for individuals and families to explore the vast beauty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains while operating top of the line ATV and Side by Side machines.
Both of our Vail ATV tours and our unguided ATV rentals operate on the same trail system, starting at 9,200 feet in elevation and reaching 12,000 feet, all will give you the awe inspiring views that some people can only dream of. Our 2016 Polaris Side by Sides operate similar to a car. They offer seating from 1 to 4 guests and have seat belts, gas and break petals, steering wheel and roll bars. They are fantastic for families or groups wanting to experience the high rocky mountain terrain together.
Our 2016 ATV’s are a fantastic way for individuals or couples to get “off road” on the mountain trail systems. This exciting machine is considered a traditional 4 wheeler and operates similar to a motorcycle or a snowmobile. They provide handle bar steering and hand lever gas and break options. They are a perfect way to get outside and experience a family friendly way to discover nature and the history that Camp Hale has to offer. Whether you choose to explore the terrain with our experienced guides or go out on your own, Nova Guides has an experience that will suit the entire family. All of our rentals include a mandated helmet and the top of the line equipment.
As summer is in full force, we look forward to welcoming you to Camp Hale. We strive to help you create memories that will last a lifetime. Each and every time that you come to a visit at Camp Hale and Nova Guides, there is something new and exciting to see. Be it wildlife, a new flower or tree or simply the great outdoors we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.
